Up & Running Goes Full Circle In Basingstoke

Up & Running BasingstokeIn a round about way, Up & Running felt they were returning to grass roots by opening their new store in Basingstoke last month. Hampshire's largest town has been nicknamed 'Doughnut City' due to the number of roundabouts that keep the traffic flowing but Up & Running claim they have been running rings round the opposition for 25 years so the new environs hold no fears.

The new shop can be found at 26 Winchester Street, right in the heart of the vibrant and historic town centre. The manager, Matthew Bennett, is keen for the store to quickly become established as the local hub for runners in Basingstoke and the local area.
Up & Running's aim has always been to motivate people to participate in running with a deep understanding that running is an activity undertaken by a wide cross section of the UK's population. Therefore, their approach has been one of inclusivity. From elite to fun runner, fitness fan to PB chaser, Up & Running is there to help any runner achieve their goal.
Jonathan Midwood, General Manager of Up & Running (UK) Ltd, said: “This is an incredibly exciting project. In the past 10 years bricks and mortar retail has taken a retrograde step and the ability for the Up & Running family to provide face to face retail has really been tough.”
He goes on to say: “Basingstoke represents green shoots for us and this new store is a great chance to connect on a personal level with the runners of the UK, especially in Hampshire and the surrounding area. We’re really excited to be here.”
Up & Running Basingstoke stocks all leading brands of running gear, running shoes and accessories and is a one-stop shop for all aspiring and active runners.
