Richmond RUNFEST weekend is now more family friendly than ever before with a choice of three ways for your mini-Mo to experience the big race atmosphere. Boys and girls can run the Nike Kid's Mile or 500m on Saturday (16 September) and there is a brand new Richmond RUNFEST Family Mile added to Sunday's schedule (17 September).
All runners in the original Nike Kid's Mile or 500m will be supported by Team GB Olympians in their warm-up and races and will enjoy chip timing and a Nike race T-shirt and cool medal. Richmond RUNFEST Family Mile is an exciting addition to the programme and will be held at the finish line festival. What better way to wrap up the weekend's events than getting the whole family involved in your favourite activity?
All races are filling fast and there is an early bird incentive for the Nike Kid's Mile/500m with entries costing just £7.50 until 1 August. Standard entry of £10 applies from then and there are no on the day entries allowed. The Family Mile costs £7.50 for anyone aged five and over – those under five get in free but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Only 300 places are available with no entries on the day and all finishers will also receive a medal and T-shirt.
Other family attractions include free multi-sport activities; Richmond Food Festival; Richmond Fitness Expo; Richmond Music Festival with live bands and the ever-popular Beer Garden with London Pride bar and champagne tent.
Top quality action over the weekend includes the Kew Gardens 10K on Saturday and the flagship Richmond Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday morning with thousands of runners involved.
