If you want to join the Richmond Runfest party on 15 September there is no time like the present to secure your place in Richmond Marathon or Richmond Half Marathon. Both of these cornerstone events are expected to sell out this month, five months ahead of schedule.
Tom and Jade at Richmond Runfest have informed runABC South that there has been phenomenal interest in the two longest events at Richmond Runfest this year.
The full Runfest weekend programme will feature the Kew Gardens 10K; Richmond 5K Pirate Run and Kid's Mile Races on Saturday 14 September. The following day sees Richmond Marathon and Richmond Half Marathon taking centre stage while the NIKE Family Funrun brings everyone together.
Kew Gardens 10K is run entirely within the world famous Royal Botanical Gardens while the nearby Old Deer Park hosts Richmond 5K, Kid's Mile Races and the NIKE Family Funrun.
The marathon and half marathon start at Kew Gardens and finish in Old Deer Park, following an attractive route through London's greenest borough. Highlights include Kew Gardens, Richmond Bridge and Ham House on the 13.1 mile course plus Teddington Lock, Kingston Bridge and Hampton Court Palace on the full marathon, as much of the course runs beside the River Thames.
The marathon will have pacers for every 30 minutes from 3:00 to 5:00 hour target times and Lucozade Sport FitWater at 10 water stations. All finishers in Runfest races will receive a goody bag that is bulging with gifts plus a bespoke event medal. Anyone who completes a Richmond Runfest 'Weekend Double' (any two events from 5K to marathon) will additionally qualify for the unique Goddess of Victory medal.
