There were nearly 400 finishers at the Isle of Wight half marathon on Sunday (18 August) - 50 more than at the corresponding race last year. The weather started fine but some showers crept in later on for the event hosted by Ryde Harriers. However the weather proved no obstacle to clear winner Tom Wade of Aldershot, Farnham & District who broke the tape in a personal best of 1:12:37 Second home was Benjamin Douglas of Durham University 1:17:21 and third was Julian Manning of Denmead in 1:18:39. Dawn Goodwin was the leading lady, clocking 1:32:10.
Local man Mark Brazier was the midpoint runner on 1:57:53, and the field closed on 3:13:57.
