This weekend's Shorne Woods 10k may have been cancelled due to unforseen circumstances, but organisers are keen to stress that the Guildford Riverside Run on 12 October is still very much on.
Now in its 5th year, this 10k and 5k run/walk grows in popularity year on year. Possibly because it's flat. Possibly because it’s traffic free with a rural setting, despite being just over a mile from the centre of Guildford. Possibly because thanks to Kelly’s Charity Events, 100% of funds raised from sponsorship and entry will go to local charity Challengers. Possibly because Challengers is such a popular and well supported charity because of the amazing work it does in delivering inclusive play and leisure opportunities for disabled children and young people.
Whatever the reason for its success - the Guildford Riverside Run promises to be a great way to spend a Sunday morning. The races are chip timed and there is a free kids race too. Free parking yards from the start is another bonus, not to mention on-site refreshments.
