A new obstacle race is set to take place in central London this month Rough Runner – inspired by TV game shows such as Takeshi’s Castle, Total Wipeout, Gladiators and Ninja Warrior – offers participants a fundraising challenge with a difference.
The event takes place at Clapham Common on 19 and 20 September (5k and 10k distances) and runners battle obstacles including the travelator, hang rough and punch bag revenge.
Rough Runner is organised to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation. By signing up and collecting sponsorship to take on the unique obstacle course, you will fund vital research which is improving the lives of those affected by heart disease every day.
Fiona Streeter at BHF, said: “We’re really looking forward to this year’s Rough Runner event in Clapham on 19 and 20 September and have no doubt the weekend will be lots of fun and will have a fantastic atmosphere. We can’t wait to cheer all the Roughians on as they tackle these iconic obstacles!
“Over 22,000 people under the age of 75 in the UK die from coronary heart disease each year. Rough Runner has partnered with the BHF to try and change this, by encouraging participants to raise funds for the BHF.
“If you’re looking to take on a new challenge, Rough Runner is the perfect way to support the nation’s heart charity, save lives and improve your own heart health at the same time.” For further information, visit the event website.
