Runners wanting to enter this month's Royal Windsor Half Marathon and River Trail Run have a final opportunity to secure a place. Entries will close at midnight on Thursday 7 May for the event that takes place on Sunday 25 May.
This will be the second edition of the event in the historic Berkshire town and over 1500 runners are expected on the start line. As well as the traditional 13.1mile distance, there will be 10k and 6k options for runners of all standards.
The half marathon starts and finishes at the foot of Windsor Castle, and covers an entirely flat river route heading upstream to Maidenhead before heading back towards Windsor.
Among the sights on the course are the River Thames, Windsor Race Course, Boveney Lock, the 12th century Chapel of St Mary Magdalene, Oakley Court Hotel, Bray Film Studios, 2012 Olympic Games venue Dorney Lake, the lovely village of Bray, Jubilee River, Eton College and, of course, the Royal Windsor Castle.
Entry is available through the event website.
