Runners Need has added two new stores to its London retail operation. Store 16 is now open at Clapham Junction - the 1,200 square foot store is located on St Johns Road, SW11 - a stone's throw from Clapham Junction Station and Clapham Common. The Runners Need Clapham Junction branch is a partnership with Nike. Store 17, a partnership with Brooks Sports, will commence trading later this month in Covent Garden.
The Clapham Junction store builds on the success of previous projects with Nike - this is Runners Needs' sixth partnership location with Nike. A Runners Need spokesperson told southernrunningguide.com: "This is a premium retail environment, expert advice and friendly service is central to the customer's shopping experience."
Hamish Mansbridge, acting Runners Need CEO said, "Following the overwhelming success of last summer's Nike Fuel Station on Clapham Common, we knew there was a large running community in the area, so we set about finding the right location to engage with this audience. An integral part of the store DNA will be the launch of a Nike+ Run Club, which starts shortly.
"Runners Need Clapham Junction will feature a wide selection of men's and women's technical running clothing, footwear and accessories from the very best running brands, including Brooks, Asics, Adidas, Gore, 2XU and Saucony as well as Nike. All Runners Need stores offer video gait analysis technology to analyse customers' running action and recommend the appropriate running footwear, along with unrivalled levels of expertise and service from staff that know and understand running. Our newest store will of course continue this winning strategy."
Close on the heels of Runners Need Clapham Junction is Runners Need Covent Garden. The 17th Runners Need London store opens in Covent Garden mid-July in partnership with specialist running brand Brooks Sports. Situated within the St. Martin's Courtyard development, off Mercer Street, the 400 square foot unit is the first joint partnership between Runners Need and Brooks.
The new store continues to build on the growth of Runners Need in the capital and promises to showcase the latest Brooks footwear including the award-winning PureProject natural running range. The store will also stock a selection of Brooks clothing, including the US bestselling Moving Comfort range - which combines sports bras, running and fitness apparel for women.
In addition, Runners Need Covent Garden will feature a state of the art footwear wall and video gait analysis technology to analyse customers' running action, along with a team that know and understand running. Runners Need Covent Garden will also feature a selection of men's and women's running shoes, technical clothing and accessories from other well-known brands, including ASICS, Nike, adidas, Gore and Saucony.
