Runners Need, the specialist retailer chain, has been announced as the official sports retail partner for Brighton Half Marathon. Brighton Half Marathon, in its 24th year, is scheduled for Sunday 16 February 2014 with public places sold out in record time.
Alongside the initiatives offered in store to support runners Runners Need will also provide kit advice, support training runs from their Brighton and London stores and provide prize vouchers for the overall and age category winners of the race.
Runners Need reached its 30 year milestone in 2012 and has grown to 31 stores across the UK and Ireland. They offer initiatives such as exclusive in-store events and talks, price-match policy as well as free video gait analysis technology to analyse customers' running action and recommend suitable shoes.
Runners Need marketing manager, Kirsty Jopson said: "We're delighted to come on board and support one of the UK's leading half marathons. With 19 stores in London and the south east, we look forward to working with Brighton Half Marathon to support race participants' training and race day needs."
Brighton Half Marathon is organised by and the main fundraising event for The Sussex Beacon, a care centre in Brighton supporting men, women and families affected by HIV. Public places to Brighton Half Marathon are sold out but runners can still sign up to run for one of the official charities, including The Sussex Beacon, at the event website.
