Almost 1500 runners crossed the finish line at Plymouth 10K on Sunday, up around 30% on the previous year. In typical fresh and breezy autumnal conditions the race was won by Johnny Gilby. The Derby AC runner came home in 31:38 ahead of Kairn Stone (Newham & Essex Beagles) in 32:31. Local boy Josh Trigwell (Exeter Harriers) was third in 33:34.
The leading lady was Emma Stepto (Cornwall AC) in 35:04. Alison McEwing (Erme Valley) second in 37:52 and the podium was completed by Jane Allison from home city club Plymouth Harriers in 39:41. The midpoint runner was Graham Seaborne in 56:06.
