Smith Defends London Title

Thames Valley Harrier Chris Smith successfully defended the senior men's title at the London Cross Country Championships at Parliament Hill on Saturday (16 November). There was a new winner in the women's race as Marshall Milton Keynes' Lara Bromilow took the title for the first time.

On a crisp and bright day perfect for cross country running, there were nearly 1700 participants across the day's competitions including the Balfour Beatty London Youth Games races too where twins Paulos and Petros Asgodom (pictured) helped Haringey win the boys title.

For GB fell running international Smith there was double delight as his club also won the men's team prize, aided by second placed Mohamed Mohamed.

The women's team race was won by Highgate Harriers led home by Katy Meredith who was third in the senior women's race.
