Speedy Conditions For Romney Race

There were calm, yet warm conditions for the Romney Marsh 10k in Kent on Sunday (July 10) which attracted just over 70 runners, most of whom came from nearby clubs. The flat course was perfect for those seeking personal bests and took place around the peaceful lanes of the sparsely populated area.

The event was hosted by Thanet Roadrunners. The race winner was David Weekes of Folkestone Running Club, who clocked 37:04s. In second place was Tim Sutton of Invicta East Kent AC in 40:05 and completing the top three was Jonathan Waterfield of Met Police AC in 40:15.

Amongst the women, Lesley Hall of Ashford AC led the way in 42:50, followed by Vicky Talbot-Rosner of Invicta East Kent AC in 45:07 and Tina Wren of Hastings AC 45:22.
