Nearly 150 runners took part in the rere-scheduled Les Golding Memorial 10K in Herne Bay, Kent on Sunday. The Bank Holiday date for the event was abandoned after freak storms on Monday 4 June.
The weather threatened again for the re-scheduled event, but was never enough to force another postponement of the race hosted by Invicta Kent AC as a tribute to Les Golding, a stalwart of Kent athletics.
Sunday's event was won by Nathan Wilkins of Medway & Maidstone ACV club in 36:32. Second place went to Robert Carpenter of Ashford & District in 37:39 and third was Daniel Walsh of Istead and Ifield Harriers in 38:21.
The leading lady was Natasha Dawson (Larkfield AC) in 16th place in 41:56. The race saw 145 finishers, the mid-point finisher was Gary Winstanley (Deal Tri) in 49:40.
