Admittedly if an event is called The Hurt it’s going to put you off entering, right? However, look past this and your pain will be rewarded with a trail run that has scenery like no other! This is no mud run. This is an out and out, no nonsense, trail run that you could easily mistake for being in the Alps. No surprise then that the area Hurt runners will run through used to be known as Little Switzerland.
There’s a cheeky 5k for those new to challenging trail running; a 10.5k for the more brave; and a half marathon for those who want to do the 10.5k twice! All the routes will take you on a journey through alpine-esque forests, along rocky trails and up ascents that belong on a mountainside! Though you’d expect to hear cow bells when stood on the start line in the meadow, you’re actually in the Surrey Hills – only 45 mins from London!
The Hurt will start at 9am from the Meadow off Lawbrook Lane, Peaslake, GU5 9QW on Saturday 4 June. Medals and Aunty’s homemade chocolate brownies for all!
