Takes steps to beat ovarian cancer. The Ovarian Cancer Walk returns to London’s iconic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Sunday 9 October 2016. The event features a 5k and 10k and is held to raise money for the charity Target Ovarian Cancer. You can sign up here.
It doesn't matter how you take part - walk or run, 5k or 10k - it only matters that you raise money, and help Target Ovarian Cancer achieve their goal of a long and good life for every woman diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the UK. Registration is £15, and the fundraising target is £100 per person. Women, men, children and dogs are welcome!
For Pokémon Go fans, the walk is a great way to hatch a 5k or 10k egg. And rumour has it there is also a Charmander Nest!
The walk will start at 11am and finish at around 3pm. However, participants are welcome to stay in the park for as long as they like. The event location is based near the city centre so there will be plenty to do after the walk if you wish to have a day out in London.
There will also be a Footprints stand where you can write a note in support of a loved one, an inspirational message or your reason for taking part in The Ovarian Cancer Walk. These will then be pinned on to the Footprints Wall. You will be able to take yours home with you at the end of the day and keep it as a memory of your fantastic achievement.
