The Race Organiser has been at it again – organising races. The prolific London-based events team has more than 30 events lined up for this spring and summer period, commencing with a double-header this weekend to help put a spring in your step, just like our pictured athlete.
Tomorrow (Saturday 6 May) sees the first Saturday of the month Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park 10K series that continues until September. Despite the illustrious surroundings all races cater for all abilities and there are no road crossings on the course.
Sunday (7 May) features the Regent's Park Summer Series 10K that similarly has a regular first Sunday of the month slot. The entire course is within the confines of the historic park and is mainly flat, traffic free and also open to all standards.
The following Saturday (13 May) has a different take on cross country by making it a summer sport! The Essex 10K Cross Country Series is on – you guessed it – the second Saturday of each month until September at five different venues.
The Royal Parks Summer 10K Series kicks off at Greenwich Park on Sunday 25 June and concludes with races at Regent's Park (23 July) and Hyde Park (20 August). Race limit is 700 and runners can enter any race or all three at a reduced fee with a technical T-shirt included.
Draycote Water in Warwickshire is another popular venue for races each month at a variety of distances from 7k to 20 miles and Clissold Park in Hackney is the location for a three race 5k series in June, July and August.
