Sport England has this week launched their ‘This Girl Can’ campaign, which aims to get more women involved in sport for the first time. As a means of promoting its launch, the campaign ran a TV advert during Coronation Street last night (Monday 12 January).
Running clubs are being encouraged to back the campaign to build awareness of suitable opportunities that are available. Some information and suggestions have already been shared at the England Athletics website, which you can view here.
With the advert launching this week, organisers are hopeful that those involved will utilise social media to highlight the campaign and any interesting activities. For example, you can use the #ThisGirlCan hashtag when highlighting suitable activities or people who are examples of how your club has helped more women get involved in the sport.
