The 16th Vitality British 10K returns to the streets of London on Sunday, 10 July and you can be part of the action in this iconic race in the heart of the capital. Entries are now open and there is bound to be a rush to secure one of the 15,000 places available in this spectacular summer race.
The race winners last year were Asefa Bekele (29:44) and Alice Braham (36:46) as 13,600 finished before the field closed on 2:36:08. The fantastic course starts on Piccadilly near Hyde Park Corner and runners will make their way past famous London landmarks such as the London Eye, Big Ben and Houses of Parliament.
The route is hugely popular with new and seasoned runners, who are attracted by the opportunity to run one of the most unique routes in the world, spurred on by tens of thousands of spectators lining the route from start to finish.
Nick Read, from title sponsor's Vitality said: "We are delighted to announce the return of the Vitality British 10K London Run in July 2016 for Year Three of the Vitality Run Series. We’re really looking forward to seeing the runners take part on the new and exciting course."
Jo Finnerty, from official charity partner Epilepsy said: “This is such an exciting opportunity and in our 25th anniversary year too! What a fantastic event to raise awareness for epilepsy and increase the research we’re able to fund”.
For 2016 all runners will receive a free finishers technical t-shirt from race partner, Brooks, plus a medal and the opportunity for a post-race massage. It's the perfect summer 10k and this year is set to be even more amazing.
