The Water of Life Half Marathon & 10K along the most stunning section of the Thames Path, from Marlow to Henley, offers the most picturesque route in The Race Organiser’s autumn portfolio of events.
Originated to support brilliant work by water charities internationally, it still attracts more than 600 runners per year to run through stunning riverside paths, rural farmland and private estates – impossible to race at any other time of the year.
Beginning in Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre – the training home for Team GB athletes – the route makes its way along the riverside towards Henley, taking in charming bridges, country properties and superb views, before looping back to experience all of those sights from the opposite direction.
With only river bridges and some farmland undulation to contend with in the way of elevation, you’ll find yourself flying through the course and still able to enjoy the natural beauty all around you.
The shorter 10K route also takes in the highlights of the Thames Path before an earlier turning point, also returning the same way as the outbound stretch. With food and drink, and a junior race on offer at Bisham Abbey while the races are taking place, a brilliant family day out is in store for runners of all ages and abilities.
From £16, or just £7 for the Junior Race.
