Entries are open for the 2015 Watford Half Marathon. An estimated 2,000 runners are expected to take part in the event which will take place on Sunday 1 February. Hosted by Watford Harriers, the course is largely rural, taking in the Hertfordshire lanes between starting and finishing at Cassiobury Park. Race organisers have made alterations to the 2015 course to avoid points that flooded this year.
All finishers will receive a Watford Half Marathon technical t-shirt and a medal as their race memento. The t-shirts come in both ladies and men's sizes.
For Hertfordshire qualified runners, the event doubles as the Hertfordshire Half Marathon Championships so there will be lots of competition at the sharp end of the race.
For families there are two Junior Challenges starting shortly after the main race. This year's race is being run to support Peace Hospice Care which is located close to Cassiobury Park.
The race is easily accessed by both public and private transport. Watford's Metropolitan Line station is just 500m from the race start and finish. Watford Junction mainline station is a warm up run away. If you plan to arrive by car, motorway access is via J19 off the M25 and J5 off the M1.
