Thumbs up for the new organisers of Weybridge 10K

Weybridge 10K runners

The popular and successful Weybridge 10K – launched in 2017 by Matt Trevett – is now owned and managed by multi-award winning organisers aat-events. The third iteration of this event, which attracted more than 1,000 competitors earlier this year, will take place in the historic riverside town on Sunday 23 June 2019.

The defending Weybridge 10K champions are Will Cullen (South London Harriers, 35:41) and Hannah Pullen (Waverley, 41:03) and the 2017 winners were James Samson (Datchet Dashers, 33:18) and Jo Locker (Walton, 40:04).

The course is evolving and in 2019 will enjoy a spectacular route alongside the River Thames, past the iconic Weybridge Monument and up the infamously challenging ‘Hanger Hill’. The course then weaves through a scenic, wooded area of the town, returning through the High Street and boutique Baker Street before a final sprint finish below Walton Bridge.

The event boasts free race photography for runners, chip timing, chunky medal and a vibrant race village. Weybridge is a great place to visit, with mentions in the Domesday Book and an attractive setting beside the River Wey and River Thames.

Matt Trevett, who will support aat-events with the delivery, said: “Today I’m finally letting go of Weybridge 10K (but not quite all of it...) to the great company behind the Mercer Surrey Half Marathon. Alongside myself and the original Weybridge 10K team, we will continue to grow and drive this race and the town of Weybridge forward! Thank you to everyone who has supported and contributed to this project thus far. I can’t appreciate enough the time you have dedicated to this idea that has turned into a reality.”

Toby Jenkins, Managing Director of aat-events, commented: “We are committed to delivering the same fantastic race that runners know and love, along with some great improvements. It was important to both Matt and myself that he maintained an active role in the delivery of the event for 2019."
