A 5K in America is offering participants an unusual incentive to run faster, by chasing after a running toilet. The Fix A Leak Family 5K is being held in Charlottesville, Virginia on 22 March to raise awareness of water conservation efforts and leak repair in the area.
The event will see an experienced runner don a toilet costume with flags attached, then given a 10-second head start on the participants. Competitors are encouraged to try and catch him to 'stop the running toilet'. Runners who are able to grab one of the flags will win a prize.
The race, now in its third year, has featured an 8:00/mile runner for the past two years. Last year's race saw the toilet finishing in third place.
There are no plans as of yet to hold a similar event in the UK, but if one does arrive, it'll no doubt receive a flush of entries.
