The rush is now on for a place at the 2014 Windsor Half Marathon after organisers opened the registration process. Taking place on Sunday 28 September 2014 in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, the Windsor Half Marathon is one of the most popular and most iconic races on the British running calendar with public places selling out within weeks of the opening of registration.
In its 32nd year, the race takes place in Windsor Great Park and is run on traffic free roads with the start and finish on The Long Walk, offering stunning views with Windsor Castle in the backdrop.
Following the introduction of a new charity structure in 2013, organisers have confirmed that they are offering a range of packages again for charities of all sizes, with over two thirds of the available places already snapped up. Scope and Clic Sargent are major charity partners. Alzheimer's Society, Christian Solidarity Worldwide, CRY, BESBWA (Berkshire East and South Bucks Women Aid) and the Founding Charity Crash have also been confirmed as official charities of the 2014 race.
Debbie Bines, Head of Events and Community Fundraising at Scope commented: "Scope is thrilled to be back on board in 2014 as gold charity partner for the Windsor Half Marathon. We were delighted with our team in 2013 and are now aiming for our biggest and best yet to take on this brilliant event. The money raised will go towards helping more than a quarter of a million disabled people and their family members this year."
