The imaginative team at Perseverance Events has added another top race to their portfolio with the launch of the Worthing Half in 2016. Perseverance already stage top events like the Summer Breeze Festival of Running and Richmond Half and are now putting all of their efforts into creating a major race in the West Sussex seaside town.
Perseverance boss Richard Xerri told runABC South: "We are working hard with a number of local partners to make Worthing Half special. We have created a fast flat course - ideal for those seeking fast times and for beginners. A scenic route too - start/finish close to Worthing Pier and feature coastal stretches along Marine and Worthing Parades.
"We also have a memorable race day - St Valentine's Day, Sunday 14 February. So a brilliant target for runners who keep their training going over the winter months. Add an extra dose of motivation by supporting a good cause; Guild Care is our charity partner and they are getting behind the new event 100%. Running in a charity vest brings an extra dimension to your involvement."
The Worthing event programme also includes a Mini Mile and 1,000 local children between the ages of 5 and 17 will also be able to take part. The aim of this race is to help build an Olympic legacy in the area and encourage more children to take up running and join local clubs.
